So So So Very Thankful
“Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.”
― Marcel Proust
Another amazing month in the books, priceless time spent with the ones who make my soul blossom :)
Evan oh Evan. I am thankful you are a full term baby! Even though your Mom and I and all of your family and all of our friends are ready to meet you, we are all happy you are full term and know you will come when the time is right! and on the day Dad guessed! lol
Your a perfect little ball in your Mommy's belly, our little Son our Peanut. You are my reason for being here, there were moments in my life I didn't think I would make it out a live. But here I am, and I can only guess the reason is to raise you to be a wonderful, loving, ~ again i dont even have the words~ MAN, I know I will put all of me 100% into being the best role model and Dad I possibly can for you, your Sister and your Mommy
I am thankful for YOU!
After seeing Lola get ready for her dinner date with Bapa and friends; Madeline and I decided to have our own date night. I remember a client of mine in college saying he would regularly take his daughters on dates, besides the pleasure of spending time together, he wanted to show them how they should be treated on a date, in hopes they would find a man who treated them the same.
Our date was nothing short of blissful, from Madeline's 2 skirts, lipstick and blush to Dad opening doors, telling her how beautiful she was over and over and seeing Maddie's reaction as strangers complemented her:)
I am more than thankful for Madeline I am blessed, lucky, ~ I dont even have the words~ to describe how truly fortunate I am to be her Dad! and share this beautiful connection with her.
A lot of that is just things, possessions, which will come and go. We put our kids and family at the forefront of all we do and that, I think, has made a huge impact on how close and loving we all are.
When we mention future activities to Madeline she is always quick to include Evan and Hercules, She is also so quick to talk about her cousin Harper and Uncle Eric, it amazes me how she is always thinking of others.
Dad and Hercules are wrapping up their last month as the Men in the house!
I'm sure Hercules is thankful for all of the attention Madeline and Brenda give him, I know I sure am!
As for me, well, I am thankful for my family, obviously lol. I'm sure many people knew that, what many people may not know (besides my family and Montana friends) is I wasn't always this "put together" It truly has been a journey to expose myself, the person I truly am at my core. The person people who know me now know.
So as I reflect on the month and what I am thankful for, I am most thankful for my Mom and that I got my S@%t together lol. There were a few (maybe more than a few) early AM calls from the Whitefish police station to my Mother. Seems ol' Wesside got in trouble again and needed to be picked up, what was it this time? vandalization, MIP,DUI, theft? But she stuck in there with me, even when I graduated something like 160 out of 164 kids in high school, she was still there for me and still is:)
All of her love plus a little bit of Marine Corps and life experience straightened me out. To the point that I graduate College with a 3.5 GPA and now am working on my MBA, making over 6 figures and am supporting a family of (soon to be) 4. But I guess more than money or pieces of paper hanging on the wall, I am proud that I am living my life as myself there is no falseness, I am true to my feelings and like to think I am a good Father and Husband :) which I didn't having growing up, maybe that's why its so important to me.
Who knows where I would be if she gave up on me those many years ago, Thanks for sticking in there with me Mom, I love you :)
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE
