Big Boy Era

Well here we are, change all around; leaves changing and getting ready to drop, hearts durability being tested in ways they never have before, some hurt, some happy and tears falling like a fall rain storm in Virginia.

I guess change is inevitable and nothing stays the same, in this exact moment everything is changing on a micro to a macro scale. Saving all the dramatics for private conversations, the Family is changing just like the seasons and I think were all sad about it for various reasons and express ourselves in various ways. I am hopeful that with time and distance from events things will be better than ever before for everyone; whatever that looks like for each of us. I hope that one day soon hearts are full again smiles and giggles are abundant, and the sun shines brighter than ever before.

I remember, a few years ago, waking up many mornings to Evan snuggling close to me in bed and whispering in my ear “we are big boys”. I love that simple phrase and what I think that meant for him and what I know it meant for me. I think of it often especially lately, life did slide off the path I want to be on, just a little bit and that little phrase has given me the strength to get it all back track with a greater focus on Evan and invest my time and energy into things that benefit him and I.

So were starting a new Era, and with any new start or re-branding you need a mantra or phrase. I think ours will be “WE ARE BIG BOYS” because we are. We can handle a lot, we can do a lot, we can take a lot, we can also love a lot, laugh a lot, and smile a lot. A new journey, a new start, a new future I’m excited to see where it takes us and know that all works out, not without challenges, but it always works out.

So here we are; Evan, Hercules and Wesley

We are big boys
