The Most WONDERFUL time of the year
December! My favorite month, besides snow, sledding, Christmas and my birthday it is a time when families get together. This is why I dream of December all year long! This December was particularly busy and blissful :)
Evan has Arrived!!!!!!!! Wow 9 months flew by, well for me anyways lol. What a life changing experience, from hearing Brenda's water break, to the drive filled with excitement and apprehension, the 8 minute labor, and finally finally finally getting to hold our baby boy.
BLISS! such a beautiful experience. After I cut the umbilical cord the nurses rushed him over to the warming table to conduct tests and help get some fluid out of his lungs, as the umbilical cord was around his neck at birth. Our little boy lay there confused, cold, being poked, ointment in his eyes, he began crying and flailing his little arms and legs. I wasn't sure what to do, it hurt to see our little boy in discomfort, so from about 4 feet a way I just said his name in a soothing tone, and I'll be darned if he didn't stop crying and flailing immediately.
In that little blip of time we started our journey together, he may not know it now, but I will always be there, just as I was in his first minutes of life. All through out his life I will be there for him, his constant, his safe place and hopefully I will always be able to settle his discomfort when he is crying and flailing, with my soothing tone and all of my love.
Here are some Baby pics :) http://hillfamilylove.com/evan-bryan/
Hercules is doing great. He had so much attention these last few weeks, he was in doggy heaven. Papa Ron, Grandma Terri, Grandpa Monte and all the people over for UFC 168 wore him out!
Before all of the snow and freezing temps there were a few nice days where we all went on a family walk. Hercules is a proud bully, he trots with his ears back chest up tall an pushed out. Its pretty funny to watch, I suppose he is just proud to be a part of this amazing family as am I :)
Thing are complete:), there are changing pads, Christmas toys, and left over's everywhere. Resulting in a clean baby, happy toddler and full bellys for all. Pretty perfect just having that.
The small things, a beautiful safe home to live in, loving family and friends, food in the fridge, gas in the truck. I didn't always have any of that, so I try to always be grateful and appreciative.
This was the month, the month I have been waiting for.. for well my whole life. I have dreamt of having this life for many many years, long before I knew Brenda, lived in Virginia or even graduate high school. This is why I am here, to be a husband and father set the example, love endlessly, and be silly.
Dreams do come true, you have to fight like hell at times, make sacrifices, and sometimes start over. But its attainable, its doable, its out there don't ever ever ever give up.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to everyone
