#GRATEFUL

I always have to go through the pictures on my iPhone to remember all the things we experienced in a month. April was; Easter, Cherry Blossom Festival, Ear piercing, Hiking, first haircut, after dinner walks, 2nd Year anniversary and new house purchase :)

It’s impressive how much we can fit in in just one month, odd that I can never remember it all lol; but I’m just grateful for the experiences we get to share together as a family.

Evan is a busy busy little boy. He never stops from the second he wakes up to the second he falls asleep. He’s always doing something, sweeping the floor, talking on his Sesame Street phone, climbing on everything imaginable, or just running around screaming lol. He loves the outdoors; he will cry and point to the door whenever we bring him inside for the evening. He can’t get enough of digging in the dirt, playing catch with a ball or just watching all the big kids play. We bought a hiking back pack and he loves it! He fits perfectly and loves the view; during the Cherry Blossom Festival he was talking up a storm to anyone who would listen (bah bah bah bah), pointing and smiling. We’ve since taking him on a hike outside, of course he loves it, stopped to play in a stream, get his hand dirty and play with sticks.

Dad and Herc are doing just fine J  Hercules has been able to spend more time in the front yard with all of the kids petting and loving on him. I started a new job as a Civil Servant, working for the Navy. The job is great and the commute is a bit long (4-5 hours a day). It will be more manageable when we move and it looks like I may end up even closer to the new house in the future. It does make for a long day, working 9 hours and commuting 5, day after day after day. It was starting to grind me down and I thought to myself; what the heck are you complaining about? You have an amazing job, making more money than you have ever made, amazing benefits, get to work with the Military, a PENSION, and you are providing for your family.  Had to take a moment from looking down at my “life goals road map” and look up to enjoy the view of all we are truly blessed with. That changed my attitude and perspective from one of woe is me to one of gratitude. And that has made all the difference, the drive is challenging but not a killer and when I get home I have 2 wild kiddos running to hug me
